Laurie C. Reid is a retired military officer with 30 years of active service in the U.S. Army and U.S. Public Health Service. A graduate of Tuskegee University and the University of Maryland, she has devoted her nursing career to the areas of public health, correctional care, and home health care. A veteran with 40 years of nursing experience, she is a dedicated advocate of health equity for underserved and vulnerable populations. Her work experience areas include clinical, management, advisory, and consultant positions in multiple Military hospitals and clinics; the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, where she was an inaugural team member of the Office of Health Equity, Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention; and the U.S. Department of Justice, where she helped to establish the Office of Interagency Medical Services at the U.S. Marshals Service.She currently serves as treasurer of the National Black Nurses Association, is a member of the National Board of Directors, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and is an active member of the American Correctional Nurses Association. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and traveling.
