As a Clinical Professor at the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing and an advanced Nurse Practitioner practicing in pulmonary and critical medicine, I am currently working in the health care frontline taking care of patients with pulmonary disease such as asthma and COPD during COVID-19 pandemic.  In addition to clinical practice, I have taught in the undergraduate and graduate nursing programs to promote health care quality and enhance and ensure the quality of the nursing workforce. I have educated the nurses nationally and internationally. Health promotion and health maintenance have been the focus throughout my career.  With emphasis on promoting quality of life and implementing preventive care, especially for those who are in a vulnerable population, I have collaborated with other interdisciplinary teams on several studies related to pulmonary diseases and public health.   As a U.S. Fulbright Scholar during the academic year of 2018 to 2019 in Myanmar, I have further collaborated with Myanmar scientists on air pollution and its impact on pulmonary health. I am a strong advocate for bringing medicine to a home setting via tele-medicine to manage and prevent pulmonary diseases such as asthma, long COVID, and COPD.
